A gorgeous ornamental presence in the garden! Grows 4-6' tall, with a showy display of dark purple-green leaves, solid purple stems, and long, draping deep purple-red inflorescences. It flowers in mid-to-late-June. Originally grown as a dye plant by the southwestern Hopi Nation, this variety has the reddest seedlings of any amaranth known. Enjoys full sun to part shade.
